We provide a basic typesetting service free of charge, from the necessity of delivering translated text in a usable file. These formats are for basic text only, non-layout translation work: EPS (outlined or non-outlined type), RTF text file, PDF, HTML, TIFF, JPEG. Most translators charge for this design service. We do not feel this is fair to clients who do not have specialized computer systems.
Most translators use computers with native Japanese or Mandarin operating systems. Yet they lack the proper software to transfer their files across platforms, so they cannot to be used on every computer. If a client does not have the same language operating system, the electronic file will look like alphabet soup. We can embed the proper font into the translation text.

We have found that these cover most of the needs our clients have. But since we have hundreds more, we are happy to provide further options as requested.
Our English font library is too vast to even list the names, and comprises a complete index from all the top foundries.

Otherwise the standard fonts used in basic typesetting are "Arial" for English, "Osaka" for Japanese, and "Song" for Chinese.

We use the industry standards in layout and design software, and can produce readable files in numerous formats. Our clients do not require any special set-up. We can also recommend the format that is best suited for their needs. All the files we provide are compatible with international printing requirements.

For some clients, the translation is only the first step. But being a good translator does not equate to being a skilled designer, as many other services claim. Our parent company, DigitalKu.com, is an award winning advertising and marketing firm. Han Translations is a completely integrated division that is responsible for all its foreign design work.

We offer a complete range of design services, and can produce everything from a simple business logo identity to a complex advertising campaign. We have an extensive photo library and our art directors have years of experience and industry awards to their credit.
Our creative department can take a layout and replace the language text, or develop the entire concept from scratch. And because we are forward-thinking, we know how to retain a brand look so every project fits within a visual family of standards. We have built a reputation of taking projects from an idea to finished product.
Layout, design and any other kind of graphics work is charged at a rate of $50 per hour. We always provide a quote for such projects. There is a minimum charge of $25 for jobs requiring graphics work.
